The section of Highway 15 that connects Fort Saskatchewan to Strathcona County, Sturgeon County and Edmonton is an important trade corridor and commuter route for many. As the only river crossing into Fort Saskatchewan, the route previously had only one lane of traffic in each direction causing congestion, and tie-up from vehicle collisions.
